Body & Neck

The instrument utilizes a solid basswood body with a sexy red finish, and a bolt-on maple neck combined with a maple fretboard with 21 frets and standard black dot markers.

This is a solid combination and a good deal for the money, especially since the neck is quite slim, easy to play and almost surprisingly comfortable. The body is light and produces a bright sound with solid clarity. Additionally, the neck is sturdy and generally not prone to bending, which will come in handy during travels.

Hardware

In the electronic department, we are looking at a single humbucker, demonstrating the manufacturer's preference towards modern, more beefy and rock-oriented sound. It works quite well, with minimum fuzz and decent tonal control via single Tone knob. As always, the guitar also features a single Volume knob for adjusting the level of general audio output of the instrument.

Other notable features include a hard-tail chrome alloy bridge and a pack of six low rotation tuners. The guitar features no pick-guard.

But possibly the greatest thing about this package is the fact that it also includes an amp! It's a small amp that's quite easy to outgrow and kinda weak on the basses, but it's decent enough for the early stages.

Additionally, the price covers a gig bag, a guitar strap, a pick, and a cable, which is nice.

Sound

Thanks to the basswood body, the sound of this thing is fat and juicy, but also loaded with a muscular middles section to reel in the punch. although the sound can lean towards the gain-saturated side, it's still a solid deal in our book.

The humbucker further adds to that beefy side, while also rounding up the tone with a pinch of brightness and clarity on the treble side. For a beginner rocker, this is a great choice that delivers the fuzz right from the get-go. If that's what you're after, this is a heck of a deal!

Value/Conclusion

Essentially, this fella is on the limit of a decent sound quality, which we found thoroughly impressive seeing that you're getting both a guitar and an amp for under $100! This is not the greatest sound in the world, but it is a heck of a deal. The build is solid, the audio strength is decent, even good for beginner rockers, and the looks are pretty smooth ‘n' sexy too. For a young newbie guitarist on a budget, this is a choice we thoroughly recommend.
