4.7 out of 5 stars

Electro-Harmonix are geniuses when it comes to their field of expertise. They have maintained a long tradition of producing truly extraordinary pedals. They’re a company founded in New York in the 60’s. When it comes to music, they know it all, they’ve been through it all. Justifiably, they’re a heavily popular brand choice among the majority of guitar lovers all around the world. Today we’re introducing the EH Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai delay looper pedal.

 Features

This heavily-programmable masterpiece from EH is the epitome of versatility when it comes to control options. They’re all equally superb in quality and uniqueness. This delay pedal grants you up to 3 seconds of delay time, and up to 30 seconds of loop, with the no-brainer inclusion of Tap Tempo allowing you to set your delay timing using your foot. The Multi-Tap control gives you command over the precise amount of echo repeats that you desire.

There’s countless combinations you can achieve using this “stomp-box”. The size on this wonder box are 8 x 3.5 x 7 inches, and it weighs 2 pounds. The size of the features and customization available overshadows its physical size by a large margin.

Controls

The knobs on this pedal offer 5 ways of control:
– Decay, which changes the sound echoes from more subtle, to distorted and reverberant. Depending on the delay in ms, Decay also refines the depth of your delay modulation.
– Repeats is just another name for the Feedback control often found on other pedals, with very slight differences
– Delay’s use is obvious, it simply sets your delay time, from 1 up to 3 seconds, or in other numbers, 100 ms to 300 ms.
– Hazarai’s function is to shift through modes previously saved by the user. To save presets using the Hazarai knob, you have to hold it for a good 2 to 3 seconds, then wait for an indicator from the LED lights blinking, and voila, your preset is saved. To load one of your saved presets, all you need to do is just press and release.
– Blend controls the sound output, ranging from completely “dry” to completely “wet” signal. It is often preferred to keep this knob down in the middle for optimal balance.
– Filter basically filters your loop, like one would filter through echoes. You can tune this knob to your desire, you can have no filter at all, or a good amount of it.
As you can see, the options on this delay pedal are very deep and rich. Learning to combine them may take a bit of time to master, but the possibilities are literally endless. You can create completely unique sounds attached to your personal skills and taste.
